At the Self-Help Home, located on the first floor of the building at 11 Parkowa Street (formerly a nursery), people with disabilities can fulfil their developmental potential and affirm their status as adults through systematic activation, a friendly atmosphere and contact with their peers

From Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., participants take part in activities under the supervision of experienced therapists, developing their skills and gradually becoming increasingly independent. The Home’s therapeutic programme also includes writing, reading and numeracy exercises conducted by a special-education teacher; speech therapy; and psychological support focused on the needs of the participants’ parents.

The Home is an organisational unit of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Bolesławiec, so staying there involves paying a symbolic fee. The amount depends on the income per person in the family, which is why participants’ fees vary and range from 5 to 20 zlotys per month. However, it is also possible to be completely exempt from the fee.
