Who is the ideal candidate for service in the Police?

Someone who:

  • has at least secondary education;
  • has the physical and mental capacity to serve in armed formations subject to special service discipline, to which they are prepared to submit;
  • guarantees the preservation of secrecy in accordance with the requirements set out in regulations on the protection of classified information;
  • has a regulated status with regard to military service – in the case of persons subject to military qualification. A police officer’s service relationship is established by appointment following voluntary application for service. Appointment may take place after completion of basic military service or transfer to the reserve. This means that a person unable to perform active military service in peacetime (category “D”) who is also a reservist meets these conditions. Therefore, having health category “D” does not disqualify a candidate applying to serve in the Police;
  • is a Polish citizen. Holding dual citizenship does not disqualify a candidate during the recruitment process;
  • has an impeccable reputation;
  • has not been convicted by a final court judgment of a criminal offence or a fiscal offence;
  • enjoys full public rights.
