The incident took place on Saturday, January 15, in the evening, on Kościuszki Street in Bolesławiec, near the Mrówka building-supplies store. Two vehicles collided: a van and a passenger car. Preliminary findings indicate that one person was injured.

The driver responsible, a 53-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, crossed into the opposite lane in a Volkswagen and hit a van traveling correctly in its lane.
The VW driver was injured and taken to hospital. Fortunately, it turned out at the scene that he had not suffered anything more serious.
That was not the end of it. It emerged that the 53-year-old Bolesławiec resident not only had his driving privileges revoked, but had also got behind the wheel while drunk; a test showed nearly 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.
He now faces up to two years in prison.
