As we read on the Facebook profile of OSP Nowogrodziec Osiedle:
Our firefighters are on constant standby 24 hours a day to respond to calls.
Last year, the firefighters obtained funding from:
- the Municipality and City of Nowogrodziec,
- the COVID-19 Counteraction Fund,
- Lwówek Śląski Forest District.
The following equipment was purchased both with these funds and with the unit’s own funds:
- a chimney lance (enabling a chimney to be extinguished with water);
- a Shindaiwa petrol chainsaw for wood;
- special protective clothing;
- personal protective equipment (technical gloves, balaclava, rubber boots, Herkules boots and a firefighter’s helmet);
- a 10-litre hand sprayer.
The firefighters add:
We equipped our Lublin GLBM 0.4 vehicle with LED halogen work lights, which improve the firefighters’ work after dark.
Firefighters from OSP Nowogrodziec Osiedle are also involved in community activities. The uniformed officers said:
- We took part in distributing information leaflets about COVID-19.
- We participated in the celebrations on 11 November.
- Our firefighters helped with cleaning at the parish cemetery by St. Nicholas Church.
- We also took part in a charity campaign (“A Little Heart for Wiktor’s Heart”).
