City Hall: “It is worth showcasing the installations that many residents of our city prepare to beautify their homes and properties in winter.”

The competition is organized in three categories:

  1. multi-family building – the most attractive balcony/window illumination;
  2. single-family building – the most attractive illumination of a home garden;
  3. public-use facility – the most attractive illumination of a facility, including a shop window.

To participate in the competition, entrants must photograph an illuminated balcony/window, home garden, public-use facility/shop window and complete the entry form together with the information clause constituting an annex to the Rules. Competition entries must be submitted by 10 January 2022, by 11:59 p.m..

Participants may include residents of Bolesławiec, housing cooperatives and associations, companies and other entities with a registered office in Bolesławiec. An entrant may submit an entry in one of the three categories.

The competition is organized by Bolesławiec City Hall and the Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec (Municipal Centre for Environmental Education). Attractive prizes are planned. We invite you to participate.

COMPETITION RULES
“The Most Beautiful Christmas Illuminations in Bolesławiec”

  1. Organizers
    The competition “The Most Beautiful Christmas Illuminations in Bolesławiec”, hereinafter referred to as the Competition, is organized by Bolesławiec City Hall and the C.K. Norwid Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec (Municipal Centre for Environmental Education).
  2. Purpose
    The purpose of the Competition is to encourage residents of the City of Bolesławiec to care for the beauty and aesthetics of their immediate surroundings and to inspire them to create a unique Christmas atmosphere.
  3. Competition rules
    1. The competition is organized in three categories:
      • multi-family building – the most attractive balcony/window illumination;
      • single-family building – the most attractive illumination of a home garden;
      • public-use facility – the most attractive illumination of a facility, including a shop window.
    2. The following will be taken into account in the judging:
      • overall aesthetic impression,
      • ingenuity and originality,
      • reference to Christmas traditions.
    3. To participate in the competition, entrants must photograph an illuminated balcony/window, home garden, public-use facility/shop window and complete the entry form together with the information clause constituting an annex to the Rules.
    4. Entries
      1. In paper form:
        • the entrant completes and submits the entry form and the information clause constituting an annex to the Rules, together with printed photographs (maximum 3 photos) at the reception desk of the Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec at 5 B. Głowackiego Street, by 10 January 2022., in a sealed envelope marked: “COMPETITION – The Most Beautiful Christmas Illuminations in Bolesławiec”.
      2. In electronic form:
        • the entrant sends a scan of the entry form together with the information clause constituting an annex to the Rules, as well as the files (maximum 3 photo files) to: jsawicka@mbp.boleslawiec.pl, by 10 January 2022, by 11:59 p.m..
          Submitted photographs should be named according to the following format: FirstName-Surname-Category. Photos must be saved in JPG format (without compression). The minimum photo resolution must be 250 dpi.
    5. The Competition Committee appointed by the Organizers will select the best-lit balcony/window, home garden, public-use facility/shop window.
    6. From among the valid entries, the Competition Committee will select three winners (first, second and third place) in each category.
    7. The prizes in the competition will be vouchers to be used at a garden and building-supply store.
    8. The Competition Committee will announce the list of winners on the websites of Bolesławiec City Hall and the Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec.
    9. The winners will be informed in writing about the place and date of the prize ceremony.
  4. Participants
    1. Participants may include residents of the City of Bolesławiec, housing cooperatives and associations, companies and other entities with a registered office in the City of Bolesławiec.
    2. An entrant may submit an entry in one of the three categories.
    3. The following may not participate in the competition:
      • employees of Bolesławiec City Hall and the Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre, as well as other organizational units of the Urban Municipality of Bolesławiec,
      • members of the Competition Committee and members of their immediate families.
  5. Detailed notes concerning the evaluation of submitted objects
    Only publicly accessible objects will be evaluated in the competition.
  6. Prize funding
    The prizes will be funded from resources allocated for this purpose in the budget of the City of Bolesławiec for 2022.
  7. Amendments to the Rules
    The Organizers reserve the right to amend the Rules.
  8. Processing of personal data
    The data controller for competition participants’ personal data is the C.K. Norwid Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec.
