The first call-out was at 1:50 p.m. Firefighters put out a fire in an outbuilding in Gierałtów. A shed next to the outbuilding caught fire. The adjacent residential building had to be protected. The fire was tackled by firefighters from OSP KSRG Nowogrodziec, OSP KSRG Czerna, OSP Gierałtów and JRG Bolesławiec.

The second fire, in Nowogrodziec, broke out late in the evening. The call was received at 9:20 p.m. A basement in a multi-family building in Nowogrodziec, on Asnyka Street, was on fire. The fire was not dangerous, and the residents of the block managed to dampen the flames. Police officers ventilated the rooms—the basement and stairwell—and checked whether anyone had been injured. Rubbish in the basement corridor burned. Firefighters soaked the rubbish using a portable water tank, dismantled the scorched elements and inspected the building’s mechanical ventilation with a thermal imaging camera. They also checked the apartments with a carbon monoxide detector. The heat from the fire damaged the building’s electrical installation. Two OSP crews from Nowogrodziec and a JRG Bolesławiec crew took part in the operation.
