Therefore, we are proposing a new competition for Bolesławiec residents, aimed at beautifying our city with Christmas illuminations. It is worth showcasing the installations that many residents of our city prepare to decorate their homes and properties in winter.

The competition is organized in three categories:

  1. multi-family building – the most beautiful balcony/window illumination;
  2. single-family building – the most beautiful illumination of a home garden;
  3. public-use facility – the most beautiful illumination of the facility, including a shop window.

To participate in the competition, contestants must photograph an illuminated balcony/window, home garden, public-use facility/shop window and complete the entry form together with the information clause constituting an appendix to the Regulations. Competition entries must be submitted by 10 January 2022, by 11:59 p.m..

Participants in the Competition may be residents of the city of Bolesławiec, housing cooperatives and communities, companies and other entities with registered offices in Bolesławiec. A participant may enter one of the three categories.

The competition is organized by Bolesławiec City Hall and the Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec (Municipal Centre for Environmental Education). Attractive prizes are planned. We invite you to participate.

COMPETITION REGULATIONS
“The Most Beautiful Christmas Illuminations in Bolesławiec”

  1. Organizers
    The organizers of the “Most Beautiful Christmas Illuminations in Bolesławiec” Competition, hereinafter referred to as the Competition, are Bolesławiec City Hall and the Municipal Public Library named after C.K. Norwid – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec (Municipal Centre for Environmental Education).
  2. Purpose
    The purpose of the Competition is to encourage residents of the City of Bolesławiec to care for the beauty and aesthetics of their immediate surroundings and to inspire them to create a unique Christmas atmosphere.
  3. Competition rules
    1. The competition is organized in three categories:
      • multi-family building – the most beautiful balcony/window illumination;
      • single-family building – the most beautiful illumination of a home garden;
      • public-use facility – the most beautiful illumination of the facility, including a shop window.
    2. The following will be taken into account in the competition judging:
      • overall aesthetic impression,
      • ingenuity and originality,
      • reference to Christmas traditions.
    3. To participate in the competition, contestants must photograph an illuminated balcony/window, home garden, public-use facility/shop window and complete the entry form together with the information clause constituting an appendix to the Regulations.
    4. Entries
      1. In paper form:
        • the competition participant completes and submits the entry form and the information clause constituting an appendix to the Regulations, together with printed photographs (a maximum of 3 photos) at the reception desk of the Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec at 5 B. Głowackiego Street, by 10 January 2022, in a sealed envelope marked: “COMPETITION – The Most Beautiful Christmas Illuminations in Bolesławiec”.
      2. in electronic form:
        • the competition participant sends a scan of the entry form together with the information clause constituting an appendix to the Regulations, as well as the files (a maximum of 3 photo files) to: jsawicka@mbp.boleslawiec.pl, by 10 January 2022, by 11:59 p.m..
          Submitted photographs should be described according to the following format: First Name-Surname-Category. Photos must be saved in JPG format (without compression). The minimum photo resolution must be 250 dpi.
    5. The best-illuminated balcony/window, home garden, public-use facility/shop window will be selected by the Competition Committee appointed by the Organizers.
    6. From among the valid entries, the Competition Committee will select 3 winners (first, second and third places) in each category.
    7. The prizes in the competition will be vouchers redeemable at a gardening and building-supplies store.
    8. The Competition Committee will announce the list of winners on the websites of Bolesławiec City Hall and the Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec.
    9. The winners will be informed in writing about the place and date of the prize-giving ceremony.
  4. Participants
    1. Participants in the Competition may be residents of the City of Bolesławiec, housing cooperatives and communities, companies and other entities with registered offices in the City of Bolesławiec.
    2. A participant may enter one of the three categories.
    3. The following may not participate in the competition:
      • employees of Bolesławiec City Hall and the Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre, as well as other organizational units of the Bolesławiec Municipal Commune,
      • members of the Competition Committee and members of their immediate families.
  5. Detailed comments concerning the assessment of submitted objects
    Only publicly accessible objects will be assessed in the competition.
  6. Prize funding
    Prizes will be funded from resources allocated for this purpose in the Bolesławiec City budget for 2022.
  7. Amendments to the Regulations
    The Competition Organizers reserve the right to amend the Regulations.
  8. Processing of personal data
    The data controller for the personal data of competition participants is the Municipal Public Library named after Cyprian Kamil Norwid – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec.
