The doctor's colleagues, physicians from KCM in Jelenia Góra, decided to call an ambulance. However, no ambulance was sent, and the doctor was taken to hospital in a private car.

The incident was reported by lwowecki.info:

“The dispatcher or another person responsible for making the decision refused to send an ambulance and transport the patient to hospital. The patient was taken to hospital in a private car, which posed a direct threat to his life,” write the doctors from KCM in Jelenia Góra, who are filing a complaint against the emergency medical service.

The complaint was initially sent to the Emergency Medical Service in Jelenia Góra. However, it turns out that the dispatcher in Legnica decides where an ambulance is sent.

This applies to the entire Legnica–Jelenia Góra region. When someone calls 112 or 999, for example from Bolesławiec, they are also connected to a dispatcher in Legnica, and only there is the relevant emergency medical team dispatched. Therefore, the complaint was ultimately sent to the management of the emergency medical service in Legnica.

Meanwhile, the emergency medical service in Legnica informed us that, in this case, the dispatch of an emergency medical team was indeed refused, but that everything was done in accordance with the law and applicable procedures, and that emergency medical teams provide services in out-of-hospital settings (Article 3 of the State Emergency Medical Services Act). However, this particular report concerned a private medical facility (a private hospital), where an employee had become a patient.
