Both incidents occurred during the night of December 7.

Two dangerous road accidents occurred tonight on the A4 motorway toward Germany. One person died at the scene, and three were taken to hospital. Police are appealing to drivers to adjust their speed to the road conditions and maintain a safe distance from the vehicles ahead.
Before 1:00 a.m., the duty officer at the Zgorzelec police headquarters was notified of a road accident on the sixth kilometre of the A4 motorway. According to preliminary findings, a 30-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County, driving a Man truck with a trailer, for reasons currently unknown, collided with a vehicle that was on the right lane and properly marked by the road administrator, and was being pulled from the roadside by a Volvo tow truck. As a result of the collision, the tow truck struck a Renault vehicle belonging to the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, which was standing in front of it.
Unfortunately, the 30-year-old died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the Renault vehicle was taken to hospital for further medical assistance. Under the supervision of a prosecutor, Zgorzelec police officers, including a forensic technician and an expert in road accident reconstruction, worked at the scene.
Unfortunately, several dozen minutes later, another accident occurred two kilometres before the first incident. This time, a 45-year-old driver of a truck with a trailer failed to maintain a sufficient distance from the vehicle ahead and collided with a Daf vehicle, which in turn struck a Volvo vehicle. As a result of the incident, the 45-year-old driver and his passenger were taken to hospital.
Under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, officers will now thoroughly clarify all the circumstances of these accidents.
Zgorzelec police officers appeal to all road users to exercise caution, adjust their speed to changing conditions and maintain a safe distance from the vehicles ahead.
