In the competition, 28 students participated (in two-person teams). The participants had to demonstrate, among other things, their knowledge of terms such as:
- municipal waste,
- compost,
- recycling,
- hazardous waste,
- dump,
- landfill,
- secondary raw materials.
They were also asked about the types of waste generated in homes and their proper segregation, as well as ideas for reducing its quantity.
The competition was held in cooperation with Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej w Bolesławcu, which enabled the students to visit the site where all Bolesławiec waste is stored and sorted: the Municipal Waste Treatment Plant in Trzebień.
Here are the best participants:
- Emilia Jakubczyc and Dawid Gąsiorowski from class IVc of Primary School No. 2
- Krzysztof Blicharski and Olga Grugl from class IVc of Primary School No. 4
- Joanna Żurawek and Nikola Żylińska from class IVa of Primary School No. 2.
All participants received prizes and certificates purchased from the budget of the city of Bolesławiec.
