The incident occurred on Tuesday, 23 November, after 10:00 a.m. In Nowogrodziec, on a bend in the road, two vehicles collided: a passenger car and a minibus. The minibus passenger was injured and taken to hospital for examinations.
According to police findings, the 22-year-old Volkswagen Golf driver caused a side-on collision with the minibus while passing an oncoming vehicle. It turned out that the VW driver did not have a driving licence, and his car was not authorised for road use.
Volunteer firefighters from Nowogrodziec reported on the incident:
At 10:09 [...] we were called to a road accident in Nowogrodziec, on Ołdrzychowska Street. The report was confirmed at the scene – two passenger cars had collided, carrying a total of three people. One of them required medical assistance.
They added:
Qualified first aid was provided, passive oxygen therapy, psychological support and thermal insulation were administered. The actions also included securing the scene, limiting the spillage of operating fluids and disconnecting the batteries in the vehicles.
The operation lasted approximately one hour and involved firefighters from Bolesławiec and Nowogrodziec, as well as the police and a medical emergency team.
