There are currently 130 patients infected with coronavirus in Bolesławiec. As Radio Wrocław reported, almost one in nine of them is connected to a ventilator.
However, as Kamil Barczyk, director of the county hospital in Bolesławiec, assures Kamil Barczyk, there will certainly be no shortage of oxygen for patients. The facility receives 8 tonnes of this highly valuable gas every four days. This is an absolutely crucial issue, especially since one ventilator can consume 20–30 litres of oxygen per hour.
The fact that the hospital in Bolesławiec currently has no problems with medical gases is due to the management and investments made in advance, as early as spring 2020. At that time, taking experts’ announcements into account, the oxygen system was comprehensively modernised and, thanks to funding from the Ministry of Health, the infrastructure was expanded with a 16-tonne oxygen tank.expanded the infrastructure with a 16-tonne oxygen tank.
