The Construction School Complex in Bolesławiec organized DZIADOween, which, as the school itself explains, is “the Polish equivalent of the Western, highly popular Halloween celebration.” ZSB:
The Polish “Dziady” (as the Polish tradition is precisely called) was a ritual during which the Slavs honored the memory of their ancestors by feasting and performing various rituals.
The students were tasked with:
- preparing a dish/refreshment for a “feast for the souls,”
- making a mask – a karaboszka,
- presenting the best costume.
Here are the winning classes in the individual categories:
- refreshment category – 3E,
- karaboszka category – 4B,
- costume category – 3AL.
The school adds:
Everyone had a great time and took part in the event with tremendous enthusiasm.
