How to eliminate crow’s feet? The first method
PDO threads (polydioxanone) are a completely safe, non-allergenic and biodegradable (dissolvable) material. They are used, for example, in internal surgery as internal sutures. In aesthetic medicine, PDO threads inserted intradermally, subcutaneously or intramuscularly stimulate the skin to produce strong collagen fibres in the treatment area, producing an immediate lifting effect. After the treatment, the skin is visibly firmer, lifted and more taut. PDO threads are extremely versatile and come in many variants of twist, structure and length, meaning they can be used on virtually any area of the face and body.
What does a PDO thread treatment involve?
Depending on the technique, inserting threads around the eyes can produce not only a smoothing effect, but also prevent the further progression of crow’s feet by reducing the ability of the orbicularis oculi muscle to contract while preserving its function. As a result, the effect will be similar but more natural than in the case of botulinum toxin. PDO threads can be used under the eyes to minimise wrinkles and on the brow arch to lift drooping eyelids. The treatment can be combined with other injectable treatments, such as mesotherapy, revitalisation or fillers, to maximise the transformation effects.
The greatest advantages of the treatment are its effectiveness, long-lasting results and relatively few contraindications. The full effect of the treatment is visible after approximately two weeks and lasts, depending on the condition of the skin, for up to 24 months! The process of creating new, stronger collagen fibres continues for almost a year. The treatment is best repeated annually.
The treatment itself is virtually painless – before the procedure, the doctor applies a local anaesthetic and then inserts the threads into the selected area using a very thin needle. The number and type of needles are selected individually according to the patient’s needs. The recovery period lasts up to several days – slight redness and minor swelling or bruising may appear at the injection sites after the treatment. The occurrence of swelling and bruising is an individual matter and does not affect the effectiveness of the treatment.
