Last weekend, officers of the Border Guard from Zgorzelec detained 6 Syrian citizens and 4 Afghan citizens. As it turned out after checking their documents, the detained foreign nationals were staying in Poland without the required documents and attempted to cross the state border in violation of regulations.
Additionally, Border Guard officers detained a Russian citizen of Chechen nationality who had helped Afghan citizens cross the state border illegally. For the crime committed, the foreign national voluntarily submitted to a sentence of 1 year, suspended for a probation period of 3 years. A Georgian citizen and two Ukrainian citizens were also detained for helping foreign nationals cross the border illegally.
Another 4 Ukrainian citizens joined the group of foreign nationals detained over the weekend. The men were detained for violating the conditions of entry and stay. Two of the foreign nationals were detained in Kudowa-Zdrój, while the other two were detained by officers from Gorzów Wielkopolski and Zgorzelec.
