According to Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł from the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec:
Specialist teams established for this purpose are mainly responsible for combating drug-related crime. Operating covertly, these officers gather a great deal of information on the subject. Their knowledge of drug-trafficking activities often extends beyond their unit’s area of operations, which is why criminal investigators from different provinces exchange information and frequently join forces in joint operations.
That was the case in the Zgorzelec area. Local criminal investigators were joined by officers from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław and the Provincial Police Headquarters in Poznań.
Spokesperson: “As a result of the actions taken, a 28-year-old man travelling in an Opel was detained on the Zgorzelec section of the A4 motorway.
A large quantity of drugs was found in the car:
- almost 100 grams of cocaine,
- ecstasy tablets,
- marijuana and hashish.
At the prosecutor’s request, the court remanded the 28-year-old in custody for three months. The young man faces a sentence of up to ten years in prison.
