A year ago, during the first NPC competition in Poland at Robert Piotrkowicz’s Festival, Katarzyna Janowiec became Poland’s first overall debut champion. She won a sponsored ticket to the USA for the world’s biggest event, the Olympia (this year’s competition is being held in Orlando).
– Of course, I am still competing in amateur competitions, but it is a tremendous honor for me to stand on the Olympia stage and compete against the best in the world – says Katarzyna Janowiec. – On Friday, September 17, I began my journey to the competition. My first stop was Mexico, where I spent fourteen days with my mother and friends, because at the moment it is not possible to fly directly to the USA. I had to spend at least two weeks outside the Schengen Area in order to get to Orlando later. This did not stop me, however, because this competition is my dream! During those two weeks, I could not give up either my special diet or my training. All the time, day after day, I worked hard—and I am still working—for one goal. I was not on vacation in Mexico; I treated it as an opportunity to focus on training and preparing for the competition – Kasia adds.
You can watch footage from the training sessions on Katarzyna Janowiec’s Instagram.
On Saturday, October 2, Katarzyna is flying to Florida, and she will compete on October 5. She will represent Poland at the competition.
– I want to emphasize that even if I do not win, this is still the fulfillment of my dreams – says the athlete. – I know there will be many strong competitors. However, together with my coach Karol Milewski, I am doing my part, and we will get everything possible out of my current form. As I mentioned, the journey itself, the emotions and the experience I will gain there are a beautiful reward for me, but you know me—I will fight to the very end and, of course, give it my all! Keep your fingers crossed! – declares Katarzyna Janowiec.
We will be rooting for her. We have written about Katarzyna, her competitions and her achievements more than once. Katarzyna Kamila Janowiec, a woman from Bolesławiec whom you may know, among other things, from the posters for Glina Show 2018, is passionate about bodybuilding and fitness. In February 2020, she took part in a competition for the first time and brought home four medals from the International NPC Bodybuilding Sports Festival. That was only the beginning of her victories.
