The incident occurred on Thursday, September 30, after 7:00 p.m. A passenger train hit a man at the crossing on Kościuszki Street in Bolesławiec. The train was traveling toward Wrocław.
Train traffic was suspended. Three passenger trains are stopped at the station in Bolesławiec.

Rescuers and firefighters restored the man's pulse. Unconscious and intubated, he was taken by ambulance to hospital.

According to police findings, an unidentified man approximately 35 years old, who was walking along the railway embankment, was hit by a railcar and taken to hospital. Police are conducting proceedings under Article 177, § 1:
Anyone who, even unintentionally violating the safety rules governing land, water or air traffic, unintentionally causes an accident in which another person sustains bodily injuries specified in Article 157 § 1 shall be subject to imprisonment for up to 3 years.
