We return to the matter of expanding the transport system over the Bóbr in Bolesławiec. As reported by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways:
As part of the project, the design company carried out, among other things, a nature inventory, on the basis of which the Mayor of Bolesławiec issued the environmental decision. The documentation included drilling for the purposes of geological and engineering documentation. At the same time, work was carried out on the pavement structure design, subsoil testing, geotechnical designs, building designs and the water-law report.
What next?
Road authority: “Next year, obtaining a decision authorising the implementation of the road investment (ZRID) and announcing a tender for the construction works are planned.”
How much will it cost?
The documentation is being prepared by Biuro Projektów TRASA of Poznań; the contractual value of the documentation is more than PLN 760,000.
What exactly will be built here?
Road officials:
As part of the project entitled “Expansion of the transport system, including the reconstruction of the existing bridge and construction of a new bridge over the Bóbr River along national road No. 94 (formerly No. 4) in Bolesławiec,” a new bridge over the Bóbr River is planned (north of the existing bridge), as well as the reconstruction of the existing bridge. As a result, two parallel, twin bridge structures will be built, each with a two-lane carriageway, a sidewalk and a cycle path, ensuring good connections between the two riverbanks not only for motor vehicles, but also for pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
They add:
At both ends of the bridge crossing, intersections with central islands—so-called turbo roundabouts—are planned, with dimensions ensuring smooth traffic flow and complete freedom to choose the direction of travel. Bus bays will be built at the western intersection, allowing public transport to be used safely while improving its operation.
We will certainly return to this subject.
