23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment on the incident:
On June 22 this year, at approximately 3:30 p.m., medical rescuers from the 23rd Artillery Regiment took part in a rescue operation during a road incident and were the first to provide medical assistance to the drivers injured in the accident.
Corporal Jolanta Stecka and Senior Private Paweł Ostrowski — medical rescuers from the 3rd Rocket Artillery Squadron — were traveling with soldiers from the training ground in Trzebień to the Emergency Department in Bolesławiec when they took part in a rescue operation following a road accident involving two trucks in Trzebień.
They arrived at the scene at the same time as OSP Trzebień and jointly provided first aid before the arrival of PSP and ambulances. They were the first to assist the injured and directed the operation until the emergency services arrived. The medics from the 23rd Artillery Regiment are ready at any time of day or night to help save human lives.
As a reminder, two trucks collided on Tuesday, June 22, on voivodeship road 297 in Trzebień. The 44-year-old truck driver, a resident of Żagań County, lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the opposite lane, hitting another truck driven by a 34-year-old man from Zielona Góra. Both drivers were injured and taken to hospital, among other things with general bruising.
The injured were assisted at the scene by the Medical Team from the military unit in Bolesławiec. Firefighters from OSP Trzebień and PSP from Bolesławiec, two emergency medical teams and the police also took part in the operation.
