We were informed about the matter by a Reader. In an email to our editorial office, she wrote:
In the forest on Jeleniogórska Street (the first turn into the forest behind the military shooting range), someone left a pile of waste, probably from a renovation. These include huge bags (apparently once used for seeds for sowing), as well as pallets tightly wrapped in black plastic and Styrofoam.
She added:
Sad that when you go for a walk with your dog, you find such “surprises”...
After the article was published, forest district manager Arkadiusz Sudoł contacted us:
This is asbestos that we collected from the forest. It was secured by a licensed company. Today, the company is coming to collect the waste. We will pay several thousand złotys for it.
It is not known who brought the rubbish into the forest. It is also sad that the Bolesławiec Forest District will pay for the removal of the hazardous waste...
