In an email to the editorial office, tellingly titled “Rubbish in the city centre,” the Reader wrote:
Please intervene at the site near PKP, next to the place where an accident occurred on September 30 (a train hit a person), concerning the dirt and rubbish that keeps piling up and that no one wants to deal with.
And added:
There have been repeated reports to the police and municipal police that binge drinking sessions are being held both at this location and on the opposite side of the tracks, next to the fuel depot, involving [...] both adults and teenagers. Afterwards, all the rubbish is scattered around and glass bottles are smashed.
That is not all. As the Reader reports:
Teenagers cross the tracks while intoxicated or under the influence of psychoactive substances and climb high-voltage poles.
And concludes:
No one feels responsible for securing and cleaning up the area.
We appeal to the site manager to respond.
