During the October session of the Bolesławiec City Council, Bogdan Biernat, a Law and Justice councillor, once again asked about the issue of the mess around Polish Red Cross containers. Renata Szewczyk, Piotr Roman’s first deputy, spoke:

The agreements we have with the PCK concerning the containers are still valid. These agreements specify the locations of the containers, etc.

She immediately pointed out that one employee of the Property and Spatial Management Department of the Bolesławiec City Office spends most of their time determining which containers are overfilled, damaged or have not been emptied, and then trying to reach the private company responsible for these containers.

She added:

There is no guarantee that another agreement will not result in the PCK having yet another subcontractor who, in reality, has one vehicle for several municipalities, including, for example, Nowa Sól, and that the situation will not be repeated.

What is more, the deputy mayor assured everyone that she had held many discussions on the subject, including with a representative of the Bolesławiec PCK. Piotr Roman joined the discussion:

We have conducted an in-depth diagnosis. We need to engage in dialogue. I am dissatisfied too [z tej sytuacji].

He stressed that the city authorities feared that if they took more drastic action and the PCK containers disappeared from Bolesławiec, people would simply start throwing clothes into rubbish bins.

What do you think? We invite you to join the discussion.
