Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych named after Major Henryk Sucharski on Komuny Paryskiej Street is a school that has become a permanent part of Bolesławiec's landscape. Several generations have worked to shape its image, value, achievements and traditions, which are still cultivated today. In line with the needs of the international labour market, the institution now offers education in modern fields, implements educational programmes that significantly influence the quality of teaching, and has an extensive educational infrastructure.
The school is a pioneer in teaching the profession of ceramic decorator. The institution has received the status of an Examination Centre in all the professions it teaches and is one of only seven schools in Lower Silesia to provide education in a Certified Uniformed Class. The school was recognised with a Bronze badge in the Perspektywy ranking, taking sixth place in the 2019 Lower Silesian Ranking of Perspektywy Technical Schools. It is also a two-time finalist in the nationwide competition School of the Highest Quality.
ZSOiZ supports the development of professional competences and the occupational mobility of future employees by implementing numerous EU-funded projects, including internships abroad; exchanging experience in vocational education and improving communication in foreign languages.
The school's educational platform enables members of the school community to communicate freely, conduct remote learning, and create and use educational materials in any format. The school provides additional educational activities in line with students' interests, enabling them to develop their passions and improve their competences and qualifications. Building belief in success, helping students discover their talents, overcoming difficulties, and responding quickly and effectively to pupils' problems have resulted in academic achievements, participation in numerous competitions, olympiads and sports events, scholarships for the best students, and highly active volunteering. To meet the demands of new times and challenges, teachers continually improve their qualifications, attain further professional promotion levels and obtain examiner qualifications.
They take the greatest care in preparing students for examinations confirming vocational qualifications. Cooperation with the surrounding community brings measurable benefits in education and in developing students' entrepreneurial attitudes.
