The vehicles collided on one of the sharp bends on voivodeship road 297, just outside Żerkowice. The driver of an Opel off-road vehicle, travelling from Lwówek Śląski, collided with a truck travelling from Bolesławiec. The impact was so strong that the Opel Frontera bounced off the truck and ended up in a ditch.
All emergency services arrived at the scene. The Opel driver was taken to hospital. The road at this location was blocked for over an hour. Drivers used detours.
