From Wrocław to London Heathrow, flights will operate from 1 July to 26 September every Thursday and Sunday at 11:35. Landing in the English capital is scheduled for 12:45 local time. In the opposite direction, the plane will depart at 7:35, with the journey ending at 10:45 our time. Tickets can already be booked through the carrier’s online system. Flights will be suspended for the winter season. They will return in summer 2022. Thanks to them, residents of Lower Silesia will gain a connection to almost the entire world.

– The past year was a difficult period of sacrifice and isolation. I am convinced that many residents of Lower Silesia are already dreaming of some respite and planning holidays abroad. This connection will certainly make it easier for them to look for flights not only to the United Kingdom, but also to many countries in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa – says Cezary Przybylski, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

Exotic destinations straight from Wrocław

At present, connections from Wrocław operate to London Luton and London Stansted. However, neither airport has the enormous transit potential of London Heathrow, from which more than 1,100 aircraft depart every day for destinations all over the world. The network includes, among others, European countries, including popular holiday destinations such as Mallorca, Ibiza and Crete, as well as the United States, India, Morocco, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Canada, Pakistan, Nigeria and many, many more. Every year, London Heathrow ranks among Europe’s largest airports in terms of passenger numbers. In 2019, for example, there were almost 81 million passengers.

– The enormous potential of London Heathrow Airport is an excellent opportunity for residents of Lower Silesia to discover the world and rest after many difficult months of pandemic restrictions. I am convinced that, while maintaining safety standards, it will already be possible this summer to carry out plans that had to be postponed a year ago – says Grzegorz Macko, Deputy Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

More flights from Wrocław

Wrocław Airport is consistently expanding its network of connections. Carriers cooperating with the company are restoring flights suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic and presenting new options. This year, there will already be more than 50 destinations, offered mainly by low-cost airlines, along with several network connections and charters organised by travel agencies. As a result, during the holidays passengers will be able to fly directly from Wrocław to countries including Spain, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria and Norway, as well as to Iceland and Zanzibar.

– Every year, Wrocław Airport expands its transport offer, and the flight schedule for this summer season looks even more interesting than usual. During the holidays, it will be possible to fly directly from Wrocław to many countries in Europe and beyond – says Tymoteusz Myrda, Member of the Board of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. – I hope that this year we will be able to begin rebuilding tourism, which is enormously important for Lower Silesia. We want to welcome foreign tourists and enable our residents to travel. European air connections are also a major convenience for people working abroad who still consider Lower Silesia their home – he adds.

Taking into account the highly attractive offer from carriers, as well as the growing number of vaccinated people and recovered patients, Wrocław Airport estimates that passenger traffic this summer will be significantly higher than last year.

– We greatly appreciate the additional new options, which passengers will certainly like. Last year’s PLL LOT holiday flight offer from Wrocław was very well received, and we believe the same will be true this year. We are all longing for holidays, so every additional opportunity is more than welcome – says Cezary Pacamaj, Deputy President of Wrocław Airport.

Safety first

A diagnostic point is available every day at Wrocław Airport (Parking B), where rapid coronavirus tests are performed: antigen tests and genetic tests using the Real Time-gPCR method. Anyone interested can use the services of the point’s staff, not necessarily while taking or after completing an air journey, whether within or outside the Schengen Area.
