In an email to the editorial office, the complainant wrote:
I kindly ask the editorial office to intervene regarding Staroszkolna Street, from the intersection with Gałczyńskiego to the viaduct by the allotment gardens. Not only is the street one big pothole, but there is also a huge mess and mud there—enough to plant potatoes. This has been going on for several months, ever since construction began near the furniture store and another site behind the viaduct. Initially, the District Roads Authority was notified, but to no avail, because the manager stated that everything was in order, and [na] when told that mud was being carried onto the road from the construction site and vehicles were damaging it, he replied that cleaning the road involved costs—that is, he defended the construction site, even though the construction site should bear the costs related to cleaning the road. The municipal police were also notified, likewise without result. [...] In addition, when it rains, we have beautiful piles of mud, while on sunny days there are clouds of dust. Overall, the street currently looks like one huge construction site.
He added:
There is another issue concerning the garages behind the MP company, the ones by the street. The trucks delivering construction materials have made a turning area in front of the garages, destroying it. It used to be a beautifully reinforced area covered with gravel, whereas now, just as on the street, it is turning into a quagmire because trucks keep turning there and tearing up the ground with their wheels.
A few days ago, we asked the District Roads Authority for comment. We will publish its response as soon as we receive it.
