The situation at the Bolesławiec Healthcare Centre is dramatic. The facility currently has just 5 available COVID-19 beds. Until now, we had reported that Bolesławiec County was something of a green island when it came to the number of SARS-CoV-2 infections. –But this situation is changing from day to day, Kamil Barczyk, head of the county hospital in Bolesławiec, said on Polsat News Kamil Barczyk.
He added: – We are implementing systems to rotate patients more quickly and discharge them sooner. So that they are protected: they receive oxygen concentrators when leaving the hospital. To shorten the hospitalisation period, which is very long here.
An average of 15 people are discharged from our hospital every day. Facilities throughout Lower Silesia are overloaded. Fortunately, however, there is no staffing problem in Bolesławiec.
The situation will certainly improve when a mass vaccination centre opens on 12 April in the gymnasium of the First General Secondary School in Bolesławiec. We reported that this would happen back in MARCH.
We will certainly return to this topic.
