Officers from the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec police detained a 34-year-old resident of the Masovian Voivodeship. After consuming alcohol, the man got behind the wheel of a heavy goods vehicle and drove into a roadside ditch while turning.
The officers who arrived at the scene checked the driver's sobriety; the result was 2.7 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air. The 34-year-old was returning from an international route and was transporting 24 tonnes of animal feed. It also turned out that the resident of the Masovian Voivodeship had had his driving privileges revoked since August 2020.
The case of the intoxicated driver will be heard in court. The 34-year-old faces a court-ordered ban on driving vehicles, financial penalties and the long-term loss of his driving licence.
Bolesławiec police officers appeal for caution on the road and remind everyone of the absolute prohibition on driving while intoxicated. Fortunately, no one was injured this time, but an intoxicated driver poses a danger to other road users.
