On Wednesday (17 March), President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda met with representatives of the armed forces who are involved in combating the coronavirus pandemic. The military’s experience after a year of fighting the pandemic was discussed. The President thanked the services for their efforts in combating the coronavirus. This was already the fourth such meeting with the services devoted to fighting the pandemic.
During the meeting, President Andrzej Duda announced the likely introduction of restrictions throughout Poland:
We can probably expect restrictions to be introduced throughout the country. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Health are to issue a statement on this matter. In fact, the situation is bad, and bringing it under control today is of fundamental importance.
