Sick Lynx in… a Barn

As we read on the fan page of Nadleśnictwo Bolesławiec:

Last week, we received a strange report in which a woman informed us that they had a lynx in the barn. We believed her when she sent photos. After a few quick phone calls, it turned out that the lynx was wearing a telemetry collar, its name was Rumcajs, and it had been released as part of the “Reintroduction of the Lynx in north-western Poland” project by Zachodniopomorskie Towarzystwo Przyrodnicze.

Nadleśnictwo: – The project is being carried out in cooperation with WWF and the Mammal Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The lynxes are being prepared to return to their natural environment at Dzika Zagroda in Jabłonowo.

Rumcajs turned out to be ill, so a quick decision was made that he should receive treatment, and once he recovers, he will be released again into the forests in our area.
