Cezary Przybylski, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship:
Railway line no. 283 from Jelenia Góra to Lwówek Śląski, which runs across the bridge over Lake Pilchowickie, will be taken over by the Lower Silesian local government. It is an important part of our major project to revitalize disused railway routes and restore passenger services on them.
The currently disused line no. 283 is managed by PKP PLK, while the properties along it are owned by PKP S.A. As the voivodeship’s local government, we have submitted the documents necessary to take over the line to both state-owned railway institutions. For the line to be transferred to the Lower Silesian local government, PKP PLK and PKP S.A. must settle the formal and legal matters between them, after which the Minister of Infrastructure must approve transferring ownership of the line to the local government.
He adds:
We expect this to happen in the near future, and we are making consistent efforts to ensure it does. At the same time, we are already ready to take over management of line no. 283 from PKP PLK under certain conditions in order to begin preparing it for revitalization.
Details are available on the Facebook profile of Cezary Przybylski, Marshal of the voivodeship. We have reported on the matter several times in our publication, including in the article Tom Cruise Will Not Blow Up the Bridge in Pilchowice! The Structure Has Been Entered in the Register of Historic Monuments.
