(...) at the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec, a warrant officer struck his soldier, who held the rank of private. The military police are handling the matter. Knowing how things work, they will probably transfer him to another unit and hush up the case... Such matters should be publicized.
We contacted the Military Police with an inquiry. We were informed that in this matter:
The Military Police are conducting explanatory activities under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office for Wrocław-Fabryczna, Military Affairs Division. Please contact the indicated Prosecutor’s Office for details of the case.
We therefore contacted the indicated prosecutor’s office in Wrocław. Here is the response from the Wrocław prosecutor’s office:
In response to your question concerning a warrant officer striking a senior private from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec, pursuant to the Act on Access to Public Information, I hereby inform you as follows.
The commander of the indicated military unit submitted a notification of suspected crime to the Military Police Post in Bolesławiec. On the basis of the notification, the Bolesławiec Military Police Post initiated an investigation into an act under Article 353 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 351 of the Criminal Code, informing the Military Affairs Division of the District Prosecutor’s Office for Wrocław-Fabryczna in Wrocław. The case was placed under prosecutorial procedural supervision.
