On 13 February, all firefighting units of Gmina Bolesławiec (OSP in Brzeźnik, OSP in Ocice, OSP in Stare Jaroszowice and OSP in Trzebień) took part in ice-rescue training on a body of water near the village of Parkoszów.
Volunteer firefighters from Trzebień:
The training was intended to refresh and consolidate rescue techniques in the field of ice rescue on bodies of water, as well as to familiarise participants with the rescue equipment used during this type of rescue operation, which is part of the equipment of OSP in Trzebień.
The firefighters add:
All participants in the training confirmed the usefulness of this type of exercise and expressed their willingness to take part in similar initiatives in the future.
And they appeal:
In the current weather conditions, we ask you to exercise caution near bodies of water and on the ice—especially during a thaw. Ice can be very treacherous, as shown by the statistics on fatal accidents on the ice, particularly involving children!!
