On Monday, February 8, after 8:00 p.m., the fire service was called to a chimney-soot fire. There was no risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Firefighters extinguished the soot and secured the chimney flue. They also appealed for chimneys to be cleaned every year to prevent such incidents.
