Fresh smoked fish from the sea – health on your table
Smoked fish is brought to the store every two weeks straight from the sea. The nearest delivery is on 25 February. Available for sale: salmon (fillet), mackerel, silver smelt, halibut and redfish. The salmon tartare is a hit—a Polish answer to Asian sushi or sashimi. Finely chopped fish fillet seasoned with lemon juice, olive oil and other ingredients tastes excellent served with fresh baguette or lettuce. It will delight every seafood lover.
Mackerel and salmon are among the top three fish with the highest nutritional value. Rich in vitamins A, D, E and B vitamins, this combination improves the condition of the skin, delays the appearance of wrinkles, protects the eyes, and strengthens bones and teeth. The calcium and phosphorus in fish strengthen the skeletal system, zinc supports the heart and circulatory system by regulating blood pressure, copper has antibacterial properties, iodine supports thyroid function, and selenium protects cell membranes and red blood cells. Both fish provide substantial amounts of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
Redfish is notable for its low fat and cholesterol content: 100 g of meat contains 1.54 g of fat and only 52 mg of cholesterol. Redfish is a lean serving of valuable polyunsaturated fats, including omega-3 fatty acids.
It is worth diversifying your diet with halibut, as it provides large amounts of easily digestible protein, unsaturated fatty acids, minerals—potassium, phosphorus, selenium and magnesium—as well as B vitamins. It is low in calories, making it suitable for people watching their weight.
Silver smelt has delicate, slightly sweet meat and tastes excellent smoked. Silver smelt are caught on the eastern side of the Atlantic, from Iceland, the Lofoten Islands and northern Norway to the English Channel and Brittany.
