The incident took place in the stairwell of one of the apartment buildings in central Bolesławiec. At the time, the unknown perpetrator stole a bicycle worth PLN 700. Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters:
Officers from the Criminal Division of the Bolesławiec Police identified a suspect in the theft case. The 36-year-old was riding the stolen bicycle when he was detained by police officers.
The detained resident of Bolesławiec admitted to the crime. He explained to the officers that he had taken advantage of the fact that the entrance door to the stairwell was open.
The man, who had previously been convicted of offenses against property, could now face a sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison. (The recovered bicycle will be returned to its owner.)
