A man who signed his message “Retired Senior Tenant 80+” wrote to us:

I, a “respected tenant” in the area of operation of this Cooperative, ASK about the reason for and NECESSITY of once again replacing the allocators with new ones at my expense. I understood that this concerns the meters on radiators. There are three such active meters in my apartment. The COST imposed on me in this way will amount to 31.32 x 3. WHY???

He added:

I want the REASON to be stated CLEARLY. At this point, I believe that there is NO technical or operational justification. Furthermore... this IS giving a “selected” company a COLOSSAL profit at OUR expense—at the expense of US TENANTS. I am considering asking the Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the reasons behind this action.

Beata Ślęzak, head of the “Bolesławianka” Housing Cooperative:

In July last year, all Cooperative residents received information that the term of the agreement with Metrona Polska for settling heat-consumption costs using electronic heat cost allocators with radio reading would expire on December 31, 2020. The information also specified the purchase and installation cost of one allocator, as well as the fact that the cost of replacing the allocators would have to be covered by residents, with the option of making a one-time payment or paying in installments (over 10 annual installments).

Votes were held among the owners of the premises on resolutions concerning the settlement, from January 1, 2021, of heat-consumption costs using electronic heat cost allocators with radio reading, or resignation from such settlements. The service provider was selected through a tender.

She also notes:

As a supplement, I would like to add that, together with the expiry of the agreement with Metrona Polska, the warranty period for the allocators also expired.
