Przemuś’s story
Hi! My name is Przemuś. I was born on June 29, 2016. At 26 weeks, I underwent spinal surgery while still in my mother’s womb (myelomeningocele). We spent four and a half months in a hospital in Bytom. Unfortunately, the illness left its mark. I have no sensation or movement from my knees down to my feet; I cannot move my feet or toes. I have to wear orthoses, which I replace frequently. I have a neurogenic bladder and bowel. I take medication every day. I receive regular, professional rehabilitation and care from wonderful professors, a neurologist, urologist, orthopedist, surgeon and others. Medical equipment is needed, because without it I will not be able to stand on my feet.
I am learning to walk, and thanks to expensive rehabilitation I am making progress. I would very much like to be as able-bodied as my peers. I have a lot of work ahead of me. This fight is very painful, exhausting and costs a lot of money. Thanks to my orthoses, I can cover a short distance; without them, unfortunately, I can only crawl. Thanks to your help, I have a chance at an easier life. I thank everyone who supports me and donates 1% of their tax. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!
