A community police officer and operational officers from the police station in Kruszyn identified a suspect in the theft of bags of eco-pea coal. KPP Bolesławiec: “The crime took place in the first days of January 2021 in Bolesławiec municipality. Under cover of night, the suspect came near the property where the owner had stored heating fuel four times and carried out the thefts.
The suspect turned out to be a 27-year-old resident of Gromadka municipality. The losses were estimated at nearly PLN 2,000. The officers tracked down one of the recipients of the eco-pea coal and secured several bags of fuel that were still full.
The arrested man, who had previously come into conflict with the law (he had been convicted, among other things, of theft), confessed to the crime. He could now face a sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison.
