The incident occurred overnight from 18 to 19 January. Volunteer firefighters from Tomaszów Bolesławiecki:
At 1:21 a.m., we were dispatched to a road accident on the 57th kilometre of the A4 motorway, heading towards Zgorzelec.
The driver of a Renault, a 23-year-old resident of Warsaw, failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions and struck a Volkswagen driven by a 29-year-old Ukrainian citizen. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The perpetrator was fined.
Firefighters from Tomaszów Bolesławiecki, Bolesławiec, Warta Bolesławiecka and Różyniec took part in the operation, along with the police and a medical rescue team.
