According to the newspaper, the police are sending out letters clearly stating that “the incentive bonus fund for officers and discretionary bonus fund for civilian employees have been abolished.” The document in question also asks recipients not to submit bonus orders/applications this year.

On rp.pl we read:

The cancellation of the bonuses is the result of savings introduced by the government this year due to the huge expenditure caused by the fight against the pandemic. It froze the wage fund in public-sector entities, including for judges and prosecutors at all levels, as well as social benefits for retirees and pensioners of all services.

Who will not receive bonuses?

  • police
  • Border Guard
  • fire service
  • SOP
  • Prison Service.

Interestingly, discretionary bonuses are nevertheless to be awarded to officers of the... Marshal’s Guard.

“Rzeczpospolita”:

Police officers were rewarded for “securing” the recent women’s protests—they received an extra PLN 1,000 each—and in June, as reported by the National Police Headquarters, “in connection with the numerous additional tasks during the state of epidemic,” 53,000 rank-and-file police officers from across Poland additionally received PLN 54 million.
