Officers from the Criminal Division of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra identified and then arrested a 31-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra suspected of a series of thefts.

– Officers determined that in October and December last year, the suspect cut six catalytic converters from passenger vehicles parked in one of the car parks in Jelenia Góra. The victims’ losses were estimated at approximately PLN 4,000 – reports Sub-Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra.

She adds: – Police officers determined that the man was also responsible for an attempted catalytic converter theft. He did not achieve his intended goal because he was scared off.

Police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail, while the suspect will answer for his actions in court. He could face between three months and as much as five years in prison. The prosecutor placed the 31-year-old under police supervision.
