People are dying in their homes because there are no ambulances. When will this end?

The tragedy occurred on Monday, December 28, in Milików (Nowogrodziec Municipality). The incident was described on their Facebook profile by firefighters from OSP Nowogrodziec, who rushed to help the man and carried out the rescue operation:

Alert! On December 28, 2020, at 9:38 a.m., we were dispatched to provide medical assistance in Milików. According to the report, it was sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). We arrived six minutes after the call, but unfortunately it was already too late to help.

What is particularly surprising... The family of the injured person informed us that they had received a reply from the emergency number 112: “There are no
ambulances available.”

After these words, one of our firefighters was called, and he remotely activated the alarm siren, summoning other firefighters to help and notifying the State Fire Service that our intervention was necessary. A police patrol arrived at the scene. The emergency medical team ultimately did not arrive at the scene, while the nearest family doctor informed them that he would arrive in the afternoon.

Let us remember that the first four minutes in the event of SCA are crucial. Our response time in the town of Nowogrodziec and the nearby area is approximately five minutes. If witnesses of SCA begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation immediately, together we can increase the chances of survival by as much as 75%!
