Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters:

For many months, officers from the Bolesławiec SPEED unit have been patrolling the roads and confiscating the driving licences of drivers who exceed the speed limit in a built-up area by more than 50 km/h. The same happened this time.

Before 8:00 a.m., a resident of Bolesławiec Municipality was speeding through a built-up area at more than 100 km/h. Just a few minutes before 10:00 a.m., a traffic patrol stopped a driver in Trzebień who had disregarded the speed limit. The 69-year-old resident of Lubusz Voivodeship lost his driving licence for three months.

Officers:

We appeal to drivers to ease off the accelerator. The weather—particularly during the winter—can be highly changeable, and bright sunshine does not always mean a dry road surface. Therefore, drivers should obey speed limits and adjust their speed to the prevailing conditions.

They add:

Driving too fast means not only the risk of losing your driving licence, but also a serious threat to the safety of all road users.
