Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec identified the perpetrator of the theft of property worth PLN 1,200 as part of operational activities. The arrested 38-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County confessed to the crime.

The suspect explained that, when leaving a shop, he noticed a bicycle standing next to the shopping carts. The bicycle was not secured in any way, so the 38-year-old decided to take it, got on the bicycle and rode away.
The officers add:
He then dismantled the property obtained through the crime into smaller parts, took some of the items with him and hid the rest in a publicly accessible building stairwell.
The police first recovered the wheels and equipment, and later the frame and the remaining parts of the bicycle. The 38-year-old arrestee now faces a sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison.
