Health Minister Adam Niedzielski:

I will recommend extending until 17 January the restrictions currently in force, particularly those concerning the school holiday period—to avoid a third wave.

He added:

I presented the president with a vision in which, unfortunately, the prospect of a third wave is very real […]. We currently have around 10,000 infections a day, so if the third wave were to start from this level, we could expect a very significant escalation and strain on the healthcare system.
