Residents of Sędzimirów who care about keeping the school open have turned to us for help:

The Primary School in Sędzimirów has the status of the Association for the Development of Sędzimirów Village, which means that the Municipality pays only per-pupil subsidies. There are fewer and fewer pupils at the school each year (currently 19), but the number of subjects has not decreased, and teachers are needed to teach every field. Recent months have brought the school to the point where it can barely make ends meet. Salaries are paid in instalments, sometimes even incomplete ones, because there simply is not enough money. I would even say that the employees are working partly on a charitable basis. Teachers put in a great deal of work and heart so that the school can somehow survive, but unfortunately that is not enough. The Association’s president, the headteacher and the teaching staff are all doing their utmost together to keep the school going, but unfortunately things have recently become truly difficult and bleak. Help from outside is needed—support from a sponsor who would be able to assist them. The school is not housed in a new building; parents carry out minor repairs themselves and help keep the inside and outside tidy. They do not want to send their children to other schools several kilometres away from the village.
