– Officers from the Zgorzelec “Nysa” group, carrying out operations targeting drug-related crime, detained a 31-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County suspected of producing methamphetamine. The man was known to the police from previous official activities, reports junior inspector Agnieszka Goguł, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.
In the premises occupied by the detainee, officers found a submachine gun with two magazines, a suppressor and ammunition, a combat grenade, as well as bags containing drugs (methamphetamine and marijuana, nearly 250 retail doses) and… PLN 130,000 in cash.
Spokeswoman:
The man has already been charged with possessing a significant quantity of psychotropic substances and with possessing a firearm and ammunition without the required permit.
At the prosecutor’s request, the court remanded the 31-year-old in custody for three months. The man could now face a prison sentence ranging from one to as many as ten years.
