It appears that illegal gambling is still thriving in our province. The National Revenue Administration raided more illegal gambling venues. The inspections were conducted, among other places, in Oława, Jelenia Góra, Wrocław, Strzelin and Twardogóra.

KAS:

In November this year, 46 illegal gambling machines were seized in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

“The 456 devices secured in connection with illegal gambling are the result of actions by officers of the Lower Silesian National Revenue Administration during the 11 months of 2020,” says Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek of the Tax Administration Chamber in Wrocław.

The National Revenue Administration reminds the public:

Operating gambling machines is permitted in casinos under a granted licence and by entities exercising the state monopoly. Operating gambling games in breach of the law carries criminal penalties, including a fine, imprisonment of up to three years, or both, as well as a financial penalty of PLN 100,000 for each machine.

This financial penalty may be imposed not only on the owner of the illegal machines, but also on the person who leases or rents the premises where the machines are placed.

“Operating and conducting gambling games is regulated and supervised by the state, as it is particularly sensitive for social and economic reasons and poses a real risk of gambling addiction,” adds Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek.
